Long Beach City College officially turned 85 September 12, and kicked it off with a birthday celebration at Wilson High School, the site of the original Long Beach City College. LBCC President Eloy Oakley, and LBUSD Superintendent Chris Steinhauser joined LBCC Trustees, LBUSD School Board Members, students, faculty, alumni and community leaders at a cake cutting ceremony on the steps of Wilson High School, rode in vintage cars in a parade back to the Liberal Arts Campus and celebrated with the students during Join-A-Club Day.
