A nail-driving ceremony was held to commemorate the kickoff of the accelerated construction of the San Diego City College Math & Social Sciences Building. Campus and district dignitaries, faculty, staff and students all took turns driving 6" nails into a 20' long beam - a change from the ceremonial 'scoop' at traditional groundbreaking events.
