The Compton boys' basketball team won't be surprised by much this year because this group has seen it all over the last few seasons. Head coach Tony Thomas and his Tarbabes have been bridesmaids in the Moore League standings, CIF playoffs and state brackets too often for their liking.
"We're better for all of that," said Thomas last week. His team has won 61 games in the last three seasons while playing in 14 postseason contests.
