The Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation invites the community to an inspiring conversation with nationally recognized naturalist José González at Healing Severed Connections on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chong Studio, Luther Burbank Auditorium.

González will explore the powerful intersection of ecology, social justice, and belonging, highlighting how reconnecting with nature can strengthen both communities and individuals. Through engaging storytelling and thought-provoking insights, attendees will discover how restoring severed connections between people, land, and culture can foster a more inclusive and sustainable future.

About José González

José González is an educator, conservationist, and artist whose work bridges environmental awareness with cultural representation. As the founder of Latino Outdoors, he blends science, storytelling, and art to engage communities in conversations about sustainability and inclusion.

Navigating his identity as a "Green Chicano," González brings an interdisciplinary approach to his work, using design, words, and imagery to inspire action. Through education, advocacy, and creative expression, he fosters deeper connections between people, nature, and cultural heritage.
