He felt the heaviness of bronze and lead was against the times. Is there a relationship between the materials that artists use, and the time they live in, anymore? Does the state of the economy affect the materials they use? There doesnt seem to be such a relationship, only the need and choice of the artists. This exhibition presents a handful of artists that use foam, a lightweight, yet fragile material. Some use the found, formed foam, and others purchase it, like any other material. There are all sorts of commercial use for foam, but here, the function is to take it to the level of art. Please call 562-938-4815 for more information.
